With these serre joint heads you can make your own serre joint, also called sergeant. You take a wooden beam of 25 mm x 38 mm and the desired length and drill Ø11 mm holes (at least 2, but if you drill more at a distance of about 10 cm from each other, you are already prepared for future jobs!). You can then place the two heads on the wood to clamp your work.
The bolt and nut supplied are only there to hold the parts in place and should not be tightened as this will push the sides in and break them off.
It may be better to use a cap nut instead of the one supplied, or perhaps a longer bolt that cannot be tightened too far. In any case, do not tighten the bolt and nut too much.
With these heads, you are not bound to a certain clamping range, which opens up unprecedented possibilities!
If you have several sets, you can also clamp panels.
