The most commonly used drive centres are the Z4 drive centres (with 4 cutting teeth). Most woodlathes come standard with this attachment in the 25 mm version. For thin workpieces, a smaller Z4 attachment (10 mm or 16 mm) may be selected, while for thick or heavy workpieces, a larger (38 mm) attachment may be a better and safer solution.
