Terms and Conditions Webshop

Ordering
Placing orders can easily be done via the online shop on our website. Specify the articles you would like then click ‘order’.
You can now continue shopping or change your order by simply going to the shopping basket (top right).

You can set up an account when ordering an item (your details are saved so that you don’t have to enter them again next time), although this is not necessary (for one-off orders or if you don’t want us to save your details).

Price promotions are not cumulative with each other and other discounts.

Prices
All prices stated on the website are in euros and include VAT. We retain the right to changes prices without issuing prior notice.
The ‘Recupel’ contribution (legally required contribution charged on power tools) is automatically calculated where applicable (only in Belgium).

VAT
All items are displayed on our website inclusive of Belgian VAT (21% or 6% for books and magazines).

For non-Belgian customers, VAT is recalculated at checkout depending on the shipping address and whether or not they have a VAT number.
- When shipping within the European Union, one pays the VAT rate of the destination country pursuant to the One Stop Shop scheme. Prices are 'recalculated' to the local VAT rate in the shopping basket after the destination country has been selected.
- When shipping to a VAT registered business operating within the European Union, no VAT will be charged if a valid VAT number is presented.
- Deliveries to customers outside the European Union are free of VAT. (In this case, VAT and import duties are payable in the country of destination).

Product features
Photographs shown on the web site are solely for representative purposes. All products are liable to changes implemented by the manufacturers without prior notice and for which we do not accept any liability.

Shipping charges
Shipping charges are paid by the customer and depend on the weight and delivery address. With orders for items < 30 kg the shipping charges are automatically shown and calculated with the order.
When ordering larger items or machinery (> 30 kg) the shipping charges are given on request.

Delivery period
Most items shown on this website are available ex-stock.
The delivery period under normal circumstances is therefore limited to 2 to 3 days (for Belgium and neighbouring countries). In Belgium you often receive your order the next day.
If you are ordering one or more articles that are not in stock, we will ship the entire order if it can be completed within a reasonable period (maximum one week). If the anticipated delivery period is longer than one week, we will deliver the items from stock and then send the balance of the order when it becomes available. Next to the item you can always see whether or not it is in stock. N.B.: because the online shop runs in parallel with our physical shop, the ‘in stock’ notification is therefore only indicative (random) and not binding!
When ordering items not held in stock, special orders or orders for larger machinery, we will contact you as quickly as possible concerning the anticipated delivery time.
The balance of the delivery is postage/carriage paid in Belgium and neighbouring countries (Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany and France).
Willy Vanhoutte BV cannot in any way be made liable for any delays or claims for damages.

Terms of delivery
Deliveries up to 30 kg are normally shipped via DPD or Fedex.
The day before delivery you will receive an email from DPD stating that delivery will take place the following day. At this time you still have the opportunity to change your delivery details (address, times, etc.). (The ‘Predict’ service is not available in all countries).
Larger machinery is delivered by a transport company.
Shipping is always at the customer’s own risk. If requested by the customer, we can provide additional insurance cover against loss or damage. The customer always pays the premium for this extra insurance cover.
If on receiving the ordered items you see that the package is open or damaged - please state the condition clearly on the shipper’s delivery note and inform us immediately.

Method of payment
There are several payment methods. We do not however accept cheques owing to the high bank changes associated with this method.
If you select to pay by bank transfer, your items are sent once payment has been received by us. The payment details are displayed on your screen once the order is completed, and you also receive this again later by email.
Gift vouchers can be used when placing your order online. For this you simply enter the number on the gift voucher in the appropriate box.
If you have a discount code (for a special offer or as a member of the wood carver’s and engraver’s guild) this can also be entered in the appropriate box.

Reservation of title
The goods remain the property of Willy Vanhoutte BV until the invoice has been paid in full. Non-payment means that any expenses incurred in the recovery of the payment are paid by the customer.

Right of return
Items may be returned within 14 days of receiving the order.
For the conditions of sale and the procedure for return items, please see the section ‘Returning items’ at the bottom of the website page.

Guarantee
For a period of 24 months after the invoice date the seller guarantees the free repair of all parts of the items sold by the seller with respect to all construction or material defects that have arisen during the aforementioned period, and provided that the defect has been notified by registered letter to the seller within 72 hours of its discovery.
Manufacturers of branded items sometimes offer longer guarantee periods. This is stated on the item as well as on the documentation/manuals that you receive when making the purchase.
The guarantee is no longer valid if it is clear that the items have been used inappropriately or the manufacturer’s instructions have been ignored. In such cases the customer must pay for the repairs and shipping charges for returning the items.
