End Seal is an emulsified paraffin wax that seals the ends of freshly sawed wood to slow down the drying process and reduce the risk of splitting the wood.
It can also be used for work in progress that is not being completed if there is a risk of the wood splitting.
Apply it liberally, normally with a brush, but it can be sprayed if necessary, usually on the smallest area of the wood, which is normally the end grain where moisture is likely to escape. Sealing the surface allows moisture to escape through the larger areas, resulting in slower drainage.
