Robert Sorby - Round TiN cutter for TurnMaster

This is a general purpose cutter for the rapid removal of material inside and outside bowls and hollow forms. It works equally efficiently on spindle work. Manufactured with the highest quality high speed steel and coated with a titanium nitride powder coating, this cutter will provide excellent endurance with incredible sharpness.

Switch the TurnMaster into scraping mode and this cutter also delivers an extremely fine finish that requires little or no sanding.

Sharpening: Use a diamond file or honing stone around the profile of the cutter. To gain best results and increase the longevity of the cutter this simple procedure should be done little and often.

Use the TurnMaster cutter holder to reshape the profile using the Robert Sorby ProEdge using a zirconium or ceramic belt or on a grinding wheel using a standard abrasive material.

Titanium Nitride (TiN) combines the durability of tungsten carbide with the agility and sharpness of high-speed steel (HSS).

This hard, gold-coloured compound is plasma-bonded to the surface of HSS cutters, creating a coating that significantly enhances strength, wear resistance, and longevity. Because the underlying HSS is already finely sharpened (due to the fine grain structure), the TiN coating further extends edge retention without compromising precision.
